According to the Anime Movie Guide by Helen McCarthy (page 194). ISBN# 0-87951-781-6:
Note the shots of Osamu Tezuka's original manga art in the credits.
I enjoyed shows like Space Giants and Ultraman, but, for some reason, seeing that type of show in animated form just isn't the same. I should have known that I wasn't going to like this when I first saw it, but, it was one of those days when I couldn't go home without anime. And, at the time, this was new, so, I thought I would give it a try.

I've since heard rumors that Osamu Tezuka's original concept for the anime series was rejected during his lifetime and shelved. I've heard that, later, after his death, the concept was revived. I had Ambassador Magma on subtitled VHS. I wasn't really pleased with the series, so, I gave it a 0 out of 5. In the aftermath of the Ultimate Otaku Fall Cleanup, I decided not to keep it in my archive. By the way, Ranger Sombra manages a page on the subject of Ambassador Magma (Portuguese).
